Photo above and at the bottom of the page: our local recycling centre at Whitburn, (Dixon Terrace, Burnhouse Industrial Estate) opposite Buildbase on the first turning right after Lidl, when travelling south through Whitburn.

Monday - Friday: 8.00am - 8.00pm; Saturday - Sunday: 8.00am - 6.00pm; closed Christmas Day and New Year's Day

The Centre takes: Glass, Paper, Cans, Textiles, Cardboard, Plastic Bottles, Bicycles, Building Waste, Car Batteries, Electrical and Electronic Equipment, Engine Oil, Fridges / Freezers, Furniture, Garden Waste, Gas Cylinders, Wood.                    

May 2008: As part of West Lothian's latest green initiative, cloth, textiles, food and drink cartons ( often known as Tetrapack) can now be deposited in the blue bins kerbside recycling collections.  Please note that items such as belts, shoes, duvets and blankets can not be collected at present.

You will be interested to know that the Murray Court recycling site in Armadale is now at Watson Park (near the tennis courts).  It provides facilities for the collection of brown green and white glass  for recycling.
